Orphan Relief

ILM currently looks after 3,800 orphans around the world.
But what does our Orphan Relief programme involve?

Orphan Relief

Children who have lost their parents are utterly helpless and forced to face an uncertain future all by themselves. At ILM UK, we work to ensure no child is left alone, abandoned and unprotected. Here you can find out more information how your donations help and how we support our Orphans.

Orphan Healthcare

Health comes first. Every one of our sponsored orphans is assigned to a welfare nurse who regularly monitors their general wellbeing and dental health. Our children receive all the necessary vaccinations required by law, and in the event of illness, they are provided with medical assistance with all the medication and doctors’ fees paid for.

Good health is paramount to the growth, wellbeing and mental development of a child. It also ensures children perform well at school too.

Orphan Education

Education is paramount to helping people break out of the poverty cycle. ILM UK, provide orphaned children with the opportunity for a brighter future and the skills they need to make positive changes in their own lives. Every one of our sponsored children is provided with free schooling and all the educational supplies they need including books, writing equipment, uniforms and sportswear throughout the academic year.

ILM UK operates and manages schools in India, Pakistan, Malawi and Bangladesh. These schools also offer comfortable accommodation for their orphans too.

The children who attend ILM UK schools benefit from high standards of education and good classroom facilities. Wherever possible, we also provide students with school meals to help them maintain concentration and get the best out of the school day.

Orphan Welfare

Our sponsored orphans typically live with a close relative who is able to provide a secure, stable and nurturing environment. Our workers are in regular contact with the guardians and carer families to ensure all of their needs and requirements are met.

Additionally, ILM UK gives carer families a priority through other projects like food distribution, Qurbani and Iftaar programmes, blanket distribution, medical aid camps and women’s empowerment programmes.

We do this to help improve the situation of the carer families who are often underprivileged, and who too need support when caring for an orphan child.

Orphan Feedback

Once you’ve sponsored an orphan through ILM UK, we will send you an information pack about the child you are supporting; we will also provide you with an annual report on how your child is progressing. This will include school reports and exam results. You’ll also receive information about your child’s interests and aspirations.

How does your sponsorship help

There are many children who have had an irregular start to life. But, for as little as £1 per day, you can provide a child with a better future. ILM UK’s orphan sponsorship ensures:

  • The supply of food
  • The provision of shelter
  • Clothing
  • Access to clean water and sanitation
  • Medical care and welfare
  • On-going Education
  • Adequate nutrition
  • Loving care and guidance in family home

Support our Little Angels

Our orphanages provide children with a safe and stable home from home environment if they have no other family they can live with. We currently have two Orphanages, one in Malawi and one under construction in Lucknow.

Al Haq Islamic Trust

Some of our schools are paired with our orphanages with all facilities literally, under one roof. This in turn, helps us to keep costs under control and reinvest capital into the building, the staff and the pupils. In Limbe, Malawi, ILM UK runs the Al Haq Islamic Trust, which is a safe haven for children with no parents or protectors. Here, our orphanage staff provide round the clock care for the children, some of whom are as young as 2 years of age.

The staff are charged with teaching the children, to ensure they are not deprived of the education and opportunities required for the personal development that every child deserves.

Our Happy Home, Lucknow

We have just launched an exciting new project for a brand new Orphan Village situated in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, India called simply, Happy Home. This is a completely new investment project which, when completed in 2019 will transform previous farming land into an actual new village which will accommodate hundreds of orphaned children and provide them with a permanent, secure, family orientated home.
