ILM’s Orphan Sponsorship appeal aims to support orphaned children left without a guardian in the communities we work with. £30 a month will provide them with a brighter future.
At ILM UK, we are dedicated to supporting the needs and welfare of orphaned children with no guardians, and there are so many throughout the world today.
That’s why our Orphan Sponsorship appeal and supporting programmes are our primary goals, along with education. According to UNICEF, there are an estimated 153 million orphaned children in the world, the majority of whom require urgent support to aid their education and development.
Currently, ILM runs sponsorship programmes in Bangladesh, Burma, Egypt, Kashmir, Malawi and Pakistan, intending to work with as many orphaned children as we can. In an ideal world, we would be able to reach every child in need of support – that is an ambitious goal that we will never stop working towards. However, we simply would not be able to do that without the donations of our supporters whose funds go a long way to helping ILM to achieve that target.
With your support, we can help create safe homes, secure futures and better opportunities for the children in these developing countries. This support not only benefits project participants directly, but it lays the foundations for a brighter future for them and their families. Future generations will not have to face the same adversity.
Unreached orphaned children are at great risk, not just from natural elements such as disease and cold weather, but also from exploitation. Almost one in 10 children are subjected to child labour through trafficking, while some children are facing the risk of sexual exploitation.
When the ILM team reach orphaned children, we support them in building a brighter future – ensuring they receive an education, as well as food and clean water. While ILM is a Muslim charity, we work with orphaned children from all backgrounds.
