This thought-provoking event promises to shed light on the profound impact sins have on our lives in the Dunya (worldly life) and Akhira (the Hereafter). Renowned scholar Shaykh Dr. Abu Ibrahim will guide us through this journey of self-discovery and spiritual growth.

This seminar will delve into understanding the problems caused by sinning, providing practical remedies and solutions. It will also offer insight into how we can reduce sinning in general, striving towards a purer, more virtuous life that brings us closer to Allah and aids in our journey towards the Akhira.

What you can expect to learn from this seminar:

  1. Understanding Sin: Gain an in-depth understanding of what constitutes sin in Islam and its implications on our lives.
  2. Impact on Dunya and Akhira: Learn about the effects of sin on our worldly life and the consequences in the Hereafter.
  3. Remedies to Sin: Discover practical remedies for the problems caused by sinning and how to apply them in daily life.
  4. Reducing Sin: Receive spiritual guidance on how to reduce sinning and cultivate virtues that align with the teachings of Islam.
  5. Spiritual Growth: Understand how to use these teachings to fuel your spiritual growth, bringing you closer to Allah and preparing for the Akhira.

This seminar is open to all who wish to deepen their understanding of sin and its effects, and to those seeking a path towards repentance and spiritual betterment. Let us come together to reflect, learn, and grow in our faith.

The Teacher: Shaykh Dr. Abu Ibrahim has a PhD in law, specialising in Islamic Family Law. He also has a Masters in Islamic studies and has completed his Alim course. He has written academic papers published by both Cambridge and Oxford University. The Shaykh is an Imam and Khateeb and delivers Islamic lectures throughout the UK. He regularly works with Muslim charities, community organisations, and educational institutions including Islamic Societies (ISocs).

Attending With Children: Due to the nature of the seminar, it can be quite frustrating for young children, therefore we advise that you do not attending with children or babies younger than the age of 7 years old. If you do attend with young children of any age, please keep them with you at all times. If your child becomes restless and makes a lot of noise which disturbs other attendees or the teacher, we will regretably have to ask you to leave.

Seating Arrangements: Seating will be segregated.

Seating is on a first come first served basis. As this is a free event, we will need to register more attendees than we can acutally seat in the venue. The reason we need to do this is because at least 2/3 of the people who register to attend free Islamic seminars and events usually drop out and don't attend on the day. If you want to ensure you have a seat at the event, we strongly advise that you turn up on time. Once the venue has reached maximum capacity we will not be able to let you enter, even if you have family or friends inside already.

Food And Refreshments: You are welcome to bring your own food, snacks and drink with you, we will also try to have some available for purchase but can not gaurantee this.

Salah Arrangements: Women can pray in the Maryam Centre and men can pray in the main hall of the East London Mosque. Please do not pray inside the seminar hall.

Fundraising: This event is being organised by the charity ILM (International Learning Movement) in order to support the work they do around the world there will be a short fundraising segment.
