Why is Education so important?
Education is key to helping people break out of the poverty cycle. It gives people basic skills to be able to survive in the world, and navigate the world in which we live. Without Education we are unable to read, write, calculate or communicate, the skills needed to work; education gives everyone the tools for better opportunities and brighter futures. We also believe, acquired skills and knowledge are resources that can be shared and passed on from generation to generation, without being depleted. These skills are also developed as time goes on by learning from each other, and from new technologies.
Eleanor Roosevelt famously said that education is essential to good citizenship and that education is important to life because it enables people to contribute to their community and their country.
At ILM UK we know that Education doesn’t just empower individuals, it lifts entire communities.
But we also know that Education, unfortunately, isn’t readily available for everyone! We are changing that…
ILM operates fourteen schools across four countries, where students are provided with a free education. Our schools benefit children from the most underprivileged communities of Malawi, Pakistan, India, and Bangladesh.
Education is vital to eradicating poverty and social inequality. With your help we can ensure orphans and children from underprivileged communities have the tools they need for a better quality of life.
Please give a child the gift of education today.
