For over ten years ILM UK has been a leader in helping women to realise their potential since we believe that investing in women fundamentally strengthens families and societies. Our Women’s Empowerment Program develops women’s leadership, strengthens women’s organisations, increases women’s rights and ensures their personal security, and creates new political and economic opportunities for women across South Asia.
Our programs transfer tools, strategies, and lessons learned, foster synergies, and promote cooperation within and across borders. Mobilising women has proved powerful in order to accelerate progress in each country, through facilitating networking, coordination, and collaboration among women and women’s groups.
Our sewing machine classes are designed to empower women to become self-sufficient and independent. When qualified a woman then receives her own sewing machine to help form a village cooperative. Education is also available too for women to progress in business and commerce.
At ILM UK we provide support for Widows and their children as they struggle with the daily lives of fighting hunger and disease. Without nutritious food and basic household goods these families struggle to get out of the downward spiral of poverty. We are providing support to help these Widows and Orphans, a donation of £30 a month will provide them with the support they need including food, clothing and health care.
How you can help:
