OUR RELIEF EFFORTS IN NEPAL ARE ONGOING – PLEASE SUPPORT US
ILM UK’s expert teams are continuing to assist victims of the Nepal Earthquakes, which shook the Kathmandu Valley in April 2015, which killed over 8,000 people and injured more than 17,000.
Many families, including up to one million children run huge risks of drinking contaminated drinking water and failed sanitation. These families are in desperate need of food, water and medical care. Hundreds of thousands of people are living in makeshift shelters as their homes have been destroyed.
Our teams are in the area providing the most urgent needs and essential medical care. Due to the absolute destruction, there is a significant need for relief items such as food, water, shelter, personal hygiene materials, cooking equipment, and tents.
Almost one million children who were enrolled in school before the earthquake could now find they have no school building to return to. In an emergency school play a vital role – even in a temporary setup. They minimise disruption to children’s education, protect them from exploitation and abuse, and provide them with messages to keep them safe and healthy.
Our efforts are on-going and we have put together a five year plan. We have adopted two villages in Gorkha and Gaushala (Nepal) building shelters and providing education.
