Morocco Earthquake Emergency

Al-Haouz province, southeast of Marrakesh, Ouarzazate, Azilal, Chichaoua and Taroudant is home to 4.5million people in the of south Morocco, became the epicentre of a devastating earthquake in the early hours of Friday 8th September.

The 6.8 magnitude earthquake was followed by 4.9 magnitude aftershocks that have devastated the lives over 4.5 million people, resulting in 2,000 deaths and thousands more injured. As rescue efforts continue, it is clear that these numbers are just the beginning of one of the deadliest tragedies to strike this region.

People lives have been torn apart by this disaster, and most of the death have come in the rural, hard to reach mountainous areas making the relief effort ever more vital.
