Emergency Flood Appeal 2017

Emergency Flood Appeal 2017

We need your help to provide food and shelter to all those affected by the floods in West Bengal and Bihar. Flood victims are in desperate need of food packs, blankets, medical attention, and shelter.

West Bengal and Bihar, two large states in India are currently being affected by flooding. The disaster has gravely affected both states, where most people survive from subsistence farming. Crops of maize have been destroyed, villages obliterated, homes swept away and livestock killed. There is a concern for outbreaks of cholera, dysentery and malaria as well as the risk of malnutrition. With most of the roads in and around the town going under water, boats have taken place of vehicles as the mode of transport. Even tractors are coming handy in moving people to safer places.
